Looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Philadelphia this year? We’ve got you covered on some of the best events and happenings the city is offering. 

Cantina La Martina 

Cinco de Mayo at Cantina La Martina is a family affair, and the venue will be hosting activities for all ages this Friday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Philadelphians can expect two DJs (one for kids), a barbacoa pit, piñatas, face painting, a photo booth, authentic Mexican food and drinks, and much more being served up here. 

The family-friendly activities will run from 3 to 5 p.m., and then afterwards, at 6 p.m., a Sonidero DJ will focus on cumbia and other Latin genres and a live band – La Carcaña – will perform as guests enjoy a special menu featuring chicken wings, pork and beef ribs, esquites, goat and beef barbacoa tacos, chicharron, plenty of margaritas, beer and more. 

And as a release states, there will also be food and drink tents and a food truck operating in the restaurant’s expansive Agave Garden.

Revolution Taco

There are a few ways to enjoy Cinco de Mayo in Philadelphia through Revolution Taco—and one of them is mobile. This Friday, May 5, the restaurant’s bike will make its way around Rittenhouse Park from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and then Washington Square Park from 1:30 to 2 p.m. handing out free chips and salsa. And for those ordering from the restaurant directly? Expect free churros with your meal in honor of the holiday.

Sueno

Sueno is going so big for the flavorful holiday that they have to close down a whole street. As a release states, the Sueno Does Cinco Block Party will shut down Samson at 12th for an all-day party starting at 2 p.m. The event will have a Dj spinning tunes, plus plenty of specials including a house margarita, Corona bucket, frozen margaritas in pineapples, and palm tree frozen margaritas. Food specials span street corn, walking tacos, chicken kabobs, and a pineapple bowl with chicken, rice, habanero corn salad and beans. This block party is free to attend with food and drinks being pay-as-you-go.

El Rey

To turn up the heat for Cinco de Mayo in Philadelphia in 2023, El Rey will be offering limited edition food and drink specials, custom merch giveaways, a DJ spinning tunes and restaurant-wide Lotteria games to play at your table. El Vez

The streets will be rocking for El Vez’s Cinco de Mayo celebrations this Friday. From 2 to 8 p.m. the street will be blocked off for Philadelphians to try unique interpretations of classic Mexican cuisine and refreshing margaritas, while Latin-influenced DJ @ozkarzoara will be onsite to keep the party going.

The celebration for Cinco de Mayo in Philadelphia at Añejo will go all day long on the 5th. Diners can expect frozen watermelon margaritas, a limited special menu, margarita flights in Cinco flavors for $30 (which includes strawberry, guava, prickly pear and mango) or Traditional for $25 (which includes blanco, anejo, mezcal and jalapeno). Guests can enjoy it all while checking out the restaurant’s newly debuted patio spaces this Friday.

This Center City restaurant is celebrating the holiday with a Cinco de Mayo Margarita Bar during dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. While there during that time, Philadelphians can indulge in premium fruit mix-ins with flavors including classic, guava, strawberry, and paloma for $12 each. Diners can pair them with some new braised lamb belly tacos for $6 on May 5 as well.

El Camino Real

El Camino Real in Northern Liberties will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Philadelphia with Fiestapalooza. This all day event will start with happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with half priced margaritas and $5 cinco bites, and will continue throughout the day with specialty margaritas, like their frozen pineapple margarita in a pineapple. Dinner Specials on the other hand include a 12 inch monster taco, tuna ceviche tacos on crispy wontons, birria poutine and Fruity Pebble tres leches.
