Police have charged a couple with murder after a woman was beaten and left dead for days in her Fishtown home.
James Cheever, 50, and Jane Johnson, 47, were arrested Monday and admitted their guilt in the crime, ABC reported.
The man and woman knew Wilson because they were helping her with an illness, ABC reported.
Victim Kathy Wilson, 54, was found dead in her home on the 1300 block of Earl Street on Monday morning by a friend.
The couple came to the house looking for about $20,000 Wilson had stashed away, fatally beating her and taking the cash, according to ABC.
Johnson allegedly went to the 26thpolice district early Monday to tell them that her friend may be dead. Officers began questioning Johnson due to inconsistencies in her story.
