Courtroom stir over sentence

CENTER CITY – Confusion and frustration dominated the sentencing of admitted rapist Jose Carrasquillo when he tried withdrawing a guilty plea at the last minute.

The 27-year-old, notoriously beaten severely by a crowd of vigilantes in Kensington after the rapes in 2009, described himself at one point as the “antichrist.” A judge refused his request to withdraw the plea and sentenced him to up to 66 years in prison.
