More than three years after Police Officer Christopher Hulmes admitted lying under oath, District Attorney Seth Williams today charged the officer with perjury and other offenses.
The charges followed a City Paper article in August 2014 about the incident that until then had not been widely known.
“Even if his motives for doing this were good, obviously what he did was not consistent with the law,” says First Assistant District Attorney Ed McCann. “It’s not something that we can accept. We cannot allow witnesses to mold their testimony even if they say they have motives that are good.
