Darren Daulton underwent successful surgery Monday on two brain tumors.

The former Phillies catcher endured a seven-hour operation, which removed both tumors, including one originally thought to be inoperable. The biggest challenge facing Daulton in the coming weeks will be his language function. On Monday, he was reportedly talking to his oldest son about — what else? — the Phillies.

“All of the tumors have been removed,” Dr. Kevin Judy told Philly.com. “I would expect it’s going to take him three to four weeks to get over the surgery.”
