Deaf man reportedly shot during robbery in Kensington

Police said a 27-year-old man is in critical condition at Temple University Hospital after he was shot in the stomach early this morning.

The attack happened on the 1800 block of East Thayer Street in Kensington around 4:15 a.m. The victim, who police last night said is deaf, was reportedly shot during a robbery when he failed to respond quickly enough to the gunman’s demands, possibly due to his hearing impairment.

No arrests have yet been made.
