Milkboy South Street

This local brand is known for their recording studio in Northern Liberties as well as their two bar-restaurant locations, but some might not know of their hidden outdoor gem, Rock Salt. Milkboy has transformed their 4th and South location into a roofed and heated streetery dubbed ‘Rock Salt’ that is chock full of tasty bites, cocktails, canned beers, and a unique selection of house-made seltzers. Opening hours are Monday through Thursday from 4 to 11 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Juno

The space, which opened last summer, features 3,000 square feet of space nestled between two multi-level building-length murals as a backdrop while also boasting heaters for outdoor seating, colorful tables and floor rugs, lush green plants, bright seasonal flowers, trees in the center of the dining area, unique artwork and decor elements, a brand new wooden floor built around the trees, and eclectic and colorful barware and tableware. Juno features 80 seats both inside and on the sidewalk, plus a 20-seat bartop as well. On the food and drink side of things, Philadelphians who head to this outside oasis can expect Mexican-American fare, plus a very spirited bar menu to go alongside it as well.

Osteria

The newly reopened eatery offers a prime location for outdoor seating with a patio and heated tents for when the weather gets a bit breezy. Even if you’ve dined at this eatery in the past, you can expect some new treats to try when you head to the Broad Street venue now. Owners Michael Schulson of Schulson Collective and Chef Jeff Michaud have brought on Chef Ed Pinello from Via Locusta to revamp the menu. The highlight of Chef Pinello’s new menu is the “Alla Griglia,” or “from the grill,” section, but there are also pizza and pasta courses as well as a slew of new cocktails and libations to choose from as well.

Añejo

Foodies and culinary lovers alike will love the fare that comes out of the hotspot, which uses classic Mexican ingredients in traditional and also unconventional ways. The chef himself commented on the establishment’s attention to detail to help craft the menu that holds dishes that you wouldn’t typically see at a similar joint. Highlighted menu items include duck enchiladdas, pork belly tostada (with guacamole, tamarind soda glazed pork belly, tomatillo pico de gallo, cilantro crema, built on nixtamalized corn chips), octopus tostada (with taro root puree, octopus in chipotle, pickled red onions, built on taro root chips) a plethora of tacos (think chicken al pastor, blistered shishito pepper, crispy cauliflower and lamb barbacoa) and more. Beverage wise, the establishment will be serving up a spirited assortment of tequilas, margaritas, mezcal, raicilla, bacanora, specialty cocktails and sotol. However, the real draw will be the selection of agave spirits, which will feature some familiar favorites and also some lesser known, rare and premium offerings.
