The Independence Historical Trust recently honored Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. at the Legacy Award Gala on Jan. 4, 2024 at the Constitution Center. Gates produced a groundbreaking ancestral and genealogy series, ‘Finding Your Roots‘. He was honored by the Trust’s Legacy Award, which is given to leaders for their outstanding vision, innovation, hard work, and extraordinary achievements in our country and for promoting and championing the interests of all citizens.
