School choice in Philadelphia, or the lack thereof, is still one of the biggest concerns facing parents these days, according to a new report that found many residents want more options for their children.
Despite parents’ concerns with issues like safety at public schools, the report from Pew Charitable Trust did find that the city’s educational system is undergoing a “quiet transformation” over the last decade that has seen increases in alternatives in the form of charters.
Safety also is a big concern for parents, according to the report that polled 802 parents in every type of school except private.
