Drexel hoops advances in NIT

Drexel continues to prove the doubters wrong.

The Dragons beat Northern Iowa 65-63 Sunday to advance to the NIT
quarterfinals. They’ll face No. 5 Massachusetts Tuesday at the DAC.

Samme Givens scored 27 points against Northern Iowa, with Chris Fouch
adding 16. Frantz Massenat’s foul shot with six seconds left provided
the final margin. The win was the 18th straight at the DAC dating back
to last season and 15th consecutive victory this season.

Drexel has 29 wins overall, a mark eclipsed by only four other schools
in the country: Kentucky (33), Murray State (31) North Carolina (30),
Syracuse (33) and Missouri (30).
