Driver burned beyond recognition in Kensington car accident

A man is dead after the car he crashed burst into flames early Wednesday morning, reports said.

The tragic incident happened early Wednesday morning around 2 a.m. near 2nd Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue in the Kensington section of Philadelphia,reports ABC Philly.

“The driver lost control of the car, striking a small tree, jumping a curb and hitting two street lights and a traffic light, ripping them all from the base,” ABC explained. “The car then struck a building and went across the street before resting on another building and bursting into flames.”

Emergency crews were able to extinguish the fire and found the body of the driver who they believe was a man, Fox Philadelphia reported.

The victim’s body was reportedly so badly burned the entire vehicle had to be towed to the medical examiner’s office.

The incident is still under investigation.
