Drug case follow-up leads to discovery of dismembered animals

When police visited a Caln Township home to follow up on a drug investigation Monday night, they received a gruesome surprise. After finding drugs and paraphernalia, they executed a search warrant – and immediately called the Chester County SPCA.

“There were four or five types of knives in the living room area and we also found a skull that appeared to be canine in nature that was covered in gold flake,” said Richard Britton of the Chester County SPCA. “There was also an animal spine covered in gold flake both in the living room area. In addition, there was a necklace, possibly made out of teeth or animal bones.”

According to some reports, investigators also found books about witchcraft and the occult inside the house. The horror continued as SPCA officers made their way to the kitchen, where they found two more skulls on the counter and the head of a skinned animal in the freezer.

There were more skulls and two strung-up collections of chicken parts hanging from a tree in the backyard, along with a barbecue pit that appeared to be strewn with charred animal bones. “We also found a chicken coop in the back of the yard and are thankful we were able to rescue two chickens,” Britton said.

The occupants have yet been charged, as the investigation is ongoing, Britton said.
