Sip on some mocktails this Dry January in Philly 2024

If you’re looking to take a break from drinking but still want to imbibe in a spirited experience, we’ve rounded up some of the best spots for Dry January in Philly in 2024. 

Stratus Rooftop Lounge

For a way to sip soberly in style, Philadelphians can head to Stratus Rooftop Lounge in Old City. While there, visitors can sip on mocktails crafted by Lead Bartender Patrick Banko. 

Highlights include the Amalfi Coast, aka a riff on the Aperol Spritz with Lyre’s Zero Proof Bitter Italian Liqueur, Fever Tree club soda, and orange, or the Dark and Not So Stormy, a mixture of Lyre’s Zero Proof Dark Cane Spirit, fresh lime, and ginger beer. Another pick is the Spiced Cos-no-politan, their take on a Cosmo, made with cranberry, winter spices, fresh lime, and Fever Tree club soda.

Bolo

There are a few zero-proof drinks to try out here for Dry January in Philly. Options span the Punch It! ($11), made with mango, ginger, and coconut cream, the No-Jito ($10) fashioned with fresh mint, lime, sugar, and sparkling water, and the Hibiscus Lemonade ($10) crafted with the de Jamaica and lemon juice. There’s also a non-alcoholic version of Bolo’s housemade holiday cocktail, Coquito n/a ($11) available while supplies last as well.

Butcher Bar

This Center City spot is offering a “Mocktail of the Month” and for January, visitors can sip on the Collins, Agave Collins ($10), made with blueberry lemon agave and club soda. There are a few other options that Philadelphians can sip on however, including the Outta Thyme ($9), crafted with house-made cranberry thyme cordial, lime, and ginger beer, and the Pineantula ($9), made with pineapple syrup, lemon, lime, and ginger beer.

Char & Stave

This full-service café-by-day and cocktail bar-by-night from Bluebird Distilling features a slew of alcohol-free sippers with a focus on coffee. 

Options span a Barrel-Aged “Old Fashioned” ($8), crafted with the roastery’s signature barrel-aged espresso, bitters, sugar, and an orange peel, and the Matcha “Mojito” ($8), fashioned with house matcha, mint, sugar, lime, and seltzer.

Urban Farmer

There’s more than one way to enjoy Dry January in Philly while you’re at the Logan Hotel’s Urban Farmer. A few non-alcoholic options include the Happy Accident ($12) made with non-alcoholic aperitivo, grapefruit, and Fever Tree club soda, the Dirty Chai Shakerato ($12) with chai, espresso and sugar, the Cadillac Shirley Temple ($12) made with housemade grenadine, verjus, lemon-lime soda and cherry, and the Flight of the Dove ($12) made with grapefruit, lime, red pepper jelly and topped with soda.

As a release states, the venue has recently launched an all-new beverage menu replete with specialty, classic, and non-alcoholic cocktails. Imbibers looking to enjoy Dry January on the Main Line howeber can sip on the Blackberry Mojito ($8), comprised of blackberry, mint, lime, simple, coconut water, sparkling water, and red grapefruit juice, and the Thyme Fig Fizz ($8), made with lemon, fig and thyme syrup, non-alcoholic orange liqueur, egg white, and tonic.

Brunchaholics

For Philadelphians who live or work over in Jersey, Brunchaholics is offering a slew of different mocktail options for the month.

Options span the classic mojito (non-alcoholic rum infused with fresh lime, mint and simple syrup), the Brunchaholic (non-alcoholic coconut rum, spiced rum, gold rum, strawberry puree, mango puree, lime juice, orange juice and pineapple juice), Island Paradise (non-alcoholic rum, coconut mix, blue curaçao, and pineapple juice), Cranberry Mule-tini (non-alcoholic vodka, fresh lime juice, ginger beer and cranberry juice with a cinnamon stick), Watermelon Spritzer (non-alcoholic vodka, fresh pressed watermelon juice, basil and club soda) and the Paloma (non-alcoholic tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sparkling grapefruit soda).
