Regional Rail riders should be aware that SEPTA is altering its schedules, with new timetables going into effect Sunday.
The most significant changes are being made to the Chestnut Hill East, Wilmington/Newark and Warminster lines, but there will also be adjustments to the Airport, Chestnut Hill West, Fox Chase, Glenside, Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Media/Wawa, Paoli/Thorndale, Trenton and West Trenton lines.
An existing track will need to be temporarily deactivated to allow for construction of a new Willow Grove Station, which will affect the Warminster Line. Meanwhile, Amtrak work is causing changes to the Wilmington/Newark Line.
For Chestnut Hill East riders, SEPTA is restoring weekday hourly service by adding three inbound and three outbound trains.
A full list of schedule changes is available at septa.org.
SEPTA officials say the new schedules will maintain Regional Rail service at 77% of pre-pandemic levels. Rail ridership remains down about 40% compared to before COVID-19, according to the authority.
