Tuesday was an off-day for the Eagles, but that didn’t stop them from making a few minor roster moves.
The team waived linebacker Brian Rolle and added Adrian Moten, a linebacker they had cut in the preseason.
Early yesterday, Rolle tweeted, “Well Philly, it’s been real.”
Rolle went into training camp as the starting weakside linebacker, a spot where he started 13 games last season, but lost the job to Akeem Jordan. When Jordan (hamstring) went down, Jamar Chaney replaced him, not Rolle.
The Eagles were using Rolle primarily on special teams and the results weren’t what they expected, so they have moved on. Moten played in 10 games with Indianapolis last season and two with Seattle. He’ll likely be used on special teams.
The Eagles also released long snapper Kyle Nelson and added offensive guard Julian Vandervelde to the practice squad. The team will practice today at the NovaCare Complex.
