Eagles got 99 problems, but McNabb isn’t one

Donovan McNabb might be gone from South Philadelphia, but will he ever really be forgotten?

Not if he keeps running his mouth.

After beating the Eagles in his return to Lincoln Financial Field last season, McNabb took a passive aggressive jab at the Eagles, saying, “Everybody makes mistakes in their lifetime. They [the Eagles] made one last offseason.”

That obviously didn’t play out well here. Yesterday, McNabb was up to his old tricks again, telling CBS Sports that his former team may be in for a rude awakening this season. Despite a flurry of high-profile moves, the Eagles might have more problems than a Jay-Z track.

“They bring in a Nnamdi Asomugha. You have Rodgers-Cromartie, who is the one they don’t mention the most because they have Asante Samuel, too. The problem is: What do you do with Asante Samuel?,” McNabb told CBS Sports.

“Then, you’ve got to worry about DeSean [Jackson]. When he comes back are you going to give DeSean the ball or throw it to [Jeremy] Maclin? Remember, you have to give LeSean McCoy the ball, too. And then at the end you still have to pay Mike Vick. They have more problems than people are looking at.”

Wow.

But it doesn’t end there. McNabb went on to crow about the Eagles never making any significant moves during his 11-year tenure in Philadelphia.

“I was there for 11 years, and the biggest thing we brought in was T.O. [Terrell Owens],” McNabb told CBS Sports. “Now they’re getting the so-called ‘Dream Team.’ It’s amazing, but I look back on my career and what they’re doing now … that’s great; that’s excellent.”

But McNabb doesn’t hold any grudges, right? It sure would be fun if the Eagles were playing the Vikings this season. Hold that thought, at least for now, Eagles fans.
