Eagles Notebook: Shaw added, McCoy hurt

Chip Kelly has not been shy about his affection for tight ends. On Monday, he added another one to the roster by signing Will Shaw and releasing running back Miguel Maysonet.

Shaw, a tight end out of Youngstown State, attended the Eagles’ rookie camp on a tryout basis earlier this month. He finished his collegiate career with 43 receptions for 629 yards and eight touchdowns. Shaw played safety and linebacker before switching to tight end as a junior.

Maysonet’s fate appeared to be sealed when the Eagles added veteran running back Felix Jones to the roster last week. The team started Week 2 of OTAs Monday.

McCoy leaves practice early

LeSean McCoy left Eagles practice early Monday with an apparent knee injury.

The running back was seen stretching on the sideline before leaving the field. He didn’t appear to be walking with a limp. The Eagles didn’t have an official comment.

With McCoy out, Bryce Brown took the majority of first-team reps. Newly-signed running back Felix Jones also participated. The Eagles continue Week 2 of OTAs today at the NovaCare Complex.
