Eagles: Some guys who may have one foot out door

Nnamdi Asomugha

Our take: Once thought to be the second-best cornerback in the entire NFL, Asomugha has greatly underachieved since cashing in and will turn 32 this summer. The Eagles can cut him (and eat $4 million) or bring him back at $15 million — or try and shop him at a reduced price. Remember, the Birds swapped Asante Samuel for a sixth-round draft choice last offseason.

Prediction: Gone

Mike Vick

Our take: The man expected to lead the “dynasty” likely played his last game here Nov. 11. He’s been mostly unproductive since that torrid stretch in 2010. Cut him after the Super Bowl and pay just $3 million of his $16 million salary. Of course, if rookie Nick Foles continues to be unimpressive, the team might consider bringing Vick back at a very reduced cost.

Prediction: Gone

Demetress Bell

Our take: The emergency plan for left tackle Jason Peters was as

ineffective as anyone on that makeshift offensive line. They wasted $3.5 million in guaranteed money this past season. They won’t waste $9.6 million in 2013. The Birds would be wise to also let Peters’ other backup, King

Dunlap, leave as unrestricted free agent. Look to the draft for a young left tackle.

Prediction: Gone

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Our take: The most intriguing player on the roster. DRC has been an enigma. He wowed early in the year, then turned into a huge liability in recent weeks. He’s an unrestricted free agent who might command more money than he’s worth. However, considering the fragile state of the Eagles’ secondary it would be in the team’s best interest to at least negotiate with DRC.

Prediction: Stays (barely)
