To embrace the season of giving, Change Our Future’s 12 Days of Christmas initiative is focusing on supporting local families throughout Philadelphia during the month of December.
12 Days of Christmas’s purpose is to incite change in the lives of youth, starting with the foundation’s Fill-A-Cart Giveaway, which helped 20 local families on Dec. 6, at Target on 2001 Pennsylvania Ave.
Philadelphia Eagles Darius Slay, Jordan Mailata, and Michael Bennett were in attendance.
“Our goal this year is to support up to 40 families ahead of the holiday season,” says Rodney McLeod, Founder of Change Our Future. “We rely on our community members and foundation supporters to make this annual initiative possible. No donation amount is too small, and all proceeds will help a family in need.”
Change Our Future’s Fill-A-Cart Giveaway is a shopping experience for selected families facing hardships during the holidays. This initiative allows those to shop freely for household items such as toys and clothes for children. Change Our Future strives to bring holiday cheer and make a difference in underserved communities. Families were identified through the Turning Points 4 Children foundation and other community partners. Change Our Future has helped over 2,500 families during the holiday seasons.
Other elements of the 12 Days of Christmas include a Change Our Future Scholarship Fund, donations to a center for teen moms, 300 catered dinners for families, and a winter coat drive.
Community members can contribute here to help Change Our Future reach its goal of serving more families during their 12 Days of Christmas holiday initiative.
