Evil Genius Beer Company knows how to brew a good beer—and how to throw a fun block party.

This weekend (April 12), both Philadelphians and their furry friends can head to the Fishtown locale to sip, bite and play with the brand’s “Block Pawty.”

“Our guests love to bring their dogs to the beer garden,” said Ryan Keller, Marketing Manager at Evil Genius. “When the sun comes out, the beer garden is packed with our furry friends and at our previous block parties we’ve noticed that lots of people bring their pups to hang out with them, so we figured we’d throw a party that they can enjoy too. There’s going to be a ton of entertainment for both dogs and their owners at the event.”

Furry guests can expect sustainably sourced treats from Piggy Back Treats Company, doggie ice cream from Salty Paws, plus, one-of-a-kind accessories from Kanikouture and bandanas from Brixxy & Co. And for humans, the occasion will also feature throwback music from DJ Drini and bites to eat from Daddy’s Food Truck. The Bucks County Best of 2024 Food Truck winner serves up an assortment of tacos (think shrimp, birria and salmon), burgers (including one with chicken strips and turkey bacon stacked inside of it), cheesesteaks (the jerk chicken option is a fan favorite), French fry baskets, and fresh pineapple bowls filled with teriyaki fried rice and your choice of toppings.

There will also be free face painting for both kids and adults from ifacepaint215, plus, Evil Genius will have an outside bar featuring pints of their house made beer. The local brand is known for producing “Very Silly Names for Very Serious Beers.” Fan favorites span a guava IPA known as “#Adulting”, a  tropical and citrus-forward sip titled “Work Sucks, I Know!”, and one of the brand’s flagship brews, aka “Stacy’s Mom.”

The event will spill into Evil Genius’ beer garden, located adjacent to their taproom in Fishtown. The space has been named a “Top Beer Garden in Philadelphia” by both Philly Bite and Visit Philly, in addition to having made Philly Mag’s list of “Best Dog-Friendly Restaurants and Bars” in the City of Brotherly Love.

The “Block Pawty” will take place on Saturday, April 12 from noon to 6 p.m. on the 1700 block of N. Front Street in Fishtown, outside of their taproom (1727 N. Front St). The event is free to attend, more information can be found online at evilgeniusbeer.com
