Police are now searching the Feasterville, Pennsylvania, home of a man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl there, after police said her former Amish family “gifted” the then 14-year-old to the suspect for helping them out of financial troubles.
Lee Kaplan, 51, is charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor, according to 6 ABC.
A total of twelve girls were found inside the home, with ages ranging from 6 months to 18 years, the report said, adding that neighbors often saw groups of unhappy-looking girls at the home in blue dresses. Philly.com reported. The girls are now reportedly in protective custody.
Police first became notified of the incident when a neighbor called to report that Kaplan was seen with a six-month old girl. Police reportedly later learned that the girl was the daughter of the victim.
The girl’s parents, Daniel and Savilla Stoltzfus, of Quarryville, Lancaster County, were also arrested after reportedly admitting to police they gave the girl to Kaplan after doing online legal research.
All three are being held on $1 million bail.
