What to check out at Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival in 2023

This weekend holds the annual Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival, and everyone can join in on the fun at this family-friendly and pet-friendly activation.

Taking place on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Germantown Ave will be full of live demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, culinary treats, and boutique shopping showcasing what the local area and beyond has to offer.

First and foremost, the festival will feature plenty of opportunities to shop with more than 200 diverse artists and vendors from the Mid-Atlantic region and locations as far away as New Mexico all offering oils, watercolors, etchings, photography, sculpture, pottery, wood crafts, jewelry, and accessories.

Some other highlights for the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival include a Makers Village where visitors can watch artists, including glass blowers, weavers, potters, and other crafters, demonstrate their craft, and Fun Fest at Jenks Elementary School where there will be food for all, and children under 10 can have their faces painted, enjoy arts and crafts, and play games.

The activation will also feature plenty of opportunities to check out live performances and music both at the Stagecrafters and Bethlehem Pike Stage. Performers span a stiltwalker, the Amazing Carson tarot card reader, a children’s theater performance of ‘Rapunzel’, a work from Scene-N-Action Productions Co. and more.

Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival will also feature a book sale from Hilltop Books, a Caroline the Electric Carriage, Subaru Display and B101.1 FM activity booths.

For those taking public transportation, Chestnut Hill can be accessed by several SEPTA services: two SEPTA Regional Rail lines — the Chestnut Hill East and Chestnut Hill West, and SEPTA Bus Routes 23, 77, 94, 134, and L, a release states.
