A teenager was killed and a young woman was injured when shots were fired early Wednesday morning in Frankford, authorities said.
Investigators said the shooting occurred just after 1:15 a.m. on the 4100 block of Torresdale Avenue. An 18-year-old man who was shot several times throughout his body died a short time later, according to police. Authorities have yet to publicly identify him.
The other victim, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to Jefferson Frankford Hospital with a gunshot wound to her right arm, police said. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
Through Tuesday, 334 people had been killed this year in Philadelphia, down 18% compared to the same date in 2022, according to PPD homicide data.
