Police released video Friday of the shocking beating of a homeless man by several family members at a Sunoco gas station at 5th Street and Tabor Road in Olney in a bid to identify more suspects.
The victim, 51, is in a medically induced coma due to injuries he suffered.
The assault occurred April 7 and was reportedly prompted after a 10-year-old boy who was pumping gas at the station for change from customers told his family the homeless man, who was there performing similar work, had struck him.
Police say there is no evidence the man ever hit the boy.
But the family still sought retribution.
Surveillance footage shows six assailants pour out of a minivan and assault the man for 30 seconds before fleeing, using Mace, a hammer, and a piece of a rocking chair.
The boy’s mother, Aleathea Gillard, 34, and neighbor, Sharina Joachim, 24, are charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, reports say.
