Two organizations that cater to young professionals are pairing up for one special event at this week’s First Friday.
Drink Philly is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its monthly First Friday party. The business is partnering (and partying) with the Lemon Society, a local offshoot of Alex’s Lemonade Stand for 21-and-over professionals.
“We figured if we were going to celebrate, why not raise money for a great cause?” said Drink Philly founder Adam Schmidt.
Drink Philly was created two years ago when Schmidt was a “broke college student” and made a spreadsheet of local happy hours for personal use. The Lemon Society was similarly created by happy accident. “It started in 2009 as a group of people that work for [Alex’s Lemonade Stand],” coordinator Erin Ohlsen said.
