The Philadelphia Flyers’ roster for opening night of the 2021-22 season is set as they start the journey of trying to surprise the hockey world by contending in a loaded Metropolitan Division.

They won’t have much room for error initially as their roster features just 21 players due to the salary-cap crunch. That means the Flyers’ lone extra skater is the injured Kevin Hayes, who could potentially miss 10 games or more as he finishes recovering from abdominal surgery.

In search of a 12th forward, the Flyers picked up Patrick Brown off waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights. He appeared in just five regular-season games for the team over the last two seasons.
