Four people shot during a basketball game at Ogontz’s Kemble Park

Four people are hospitalized after two men let loose a hail of bullets on a crowded park during a basketball game in Olney Sunday night.

Police said that the gunmen opened fire on the Kemble Park basketball court near West Olney and Ogontz avenues shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

A woman, 20, was shot in the thigh, two 20-year-old men were each struck in the shin and another man, whose age is unknown, suffered a graze wound to the ankle. All of the victims are in stable condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

The two suspects were last seen fleeing northbound on 16th Street. No arrests have yet been made.

The shooting brings the number of violent crime victims this weekend to at least 14 people, injured in eight separate incidents in less than 48 hours.

Four of those people died, including South Philadelphia man George Fox, who was stabbed to death while tending bar inside T-Barr’s Place.
