Five shot Thursday morning in Philly

Five people were shot Thursday morning in Philadelphia, and six were hospitalized following shootings Wednesday, authorities said.

A 25-year-old man died Thursday after he was shot in the lower back at around 11 a.m. on the 4500 block of N. Lee Street in Feltonville, police said. No arrests have been made.

At around 10 a.m. Thursday, a 25-year-old man was shot once in the left side near the intersection of Tyson and Summerdale avenues in the Castor Gardens section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Police said he was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

A 21-year-old woman was transported to Temple University Hospital after she was shot once in the left hand at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday near the corner of Kensington and Hunting Park avenues in Juniata.

She is listed in stable condition, police said.

In Frankford, a 23-year-old man was shot inside a corner store during an attempted robbery just before 5 a.m. Thursday on the 4600 block of Frankford Avenue, authorities said.

He suffered a wound to his left hand and walked to Jefferson Frankford Hospital, a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

A 20-year-old man told investigators he was walking at around 2:15 a.m. Thursday on the 7500 block of Torresdale Avenue in Holmesburg when he heard people arguing followed by gunshots. He began running and noticed he was bleeding.

Police said he flagged down a passerby, who took him to Jefferson Frankford Hospital. He was later transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.

He is in stable condition, according to authorities.

A 32-year-old man showed up at Jefferson Methodist Hospital at around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday after he was stabbed in the neck and ribs outside on the 2100 block of S. 10th Street in South Philadelphia, police said.

Authorities said officers made an arrest and recovered a weapon at the scene, but police have not identified the suspect.

The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to police.

Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, a 44-year-old man was shot twice while sitting on the steps of his house on the 800 block of E. Allegheny Avenue in Kensington.

He was transported to Temple Hospital with wounds to his left arm and left leg. Authorities said he is in stable condition.

About 30 minutes earlier, not far away, on the 500 block of E. Indiana Street, also in Kensington, a 19-year-old man had been shot in the right thigh, police said. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Two men were injured after shots rang out just after 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on the 2400 block of N. 21st Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said.

A 52-year-old man was shot in the left hand and left wrist, and a 30-year-old man was struck in the left thumb. Both were listed in stable condition at Temple Hospital.

In the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia, a 20-year-old man was shot once in the head, once in the right side of his body and twice in the right forearm at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 600 block of W. Clearfield Street.

He is in critical condition at Temple Hospital, according to police.

Just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, a 33-year-old man was shot four times on the 2400 block of N. 5th Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said. He showed up to the hospital in a private vehicle and is in serious but stable condition.
