Old City venue Frame may have opened a year ago, but it’s undergone a conceptualized facelift of sorts to now offer the ultra lounge Unframed experience in addition to what Philadelphians already know and love.
The concept opened in early 2022 as a new stylish space to enjoy carefully-crafted cocktails, dishes and a unique atmosphere right here in the city. With this new update, visitors will be able to have a meal and nightclub experience under one roof.
The experience starts with the vibe—which hits you with colors, shapes and all sorts of visual sensory points almost immediately when you walk in and see the main dining room. The space is stylish and chic, very much like a lounge, but there are tables with comfortable seating and even a small (but cozy) outdoor area there to keep things feeling homey as well.
For the actual Unframed lounge upstairs, the “vibrant extension” of the space still offers a hyper-chic way to enjoy your night, but with the added fixtures of bottle service and frequent sets from renowned DJs.
The journey of your evening at Frame can start late night at the club, or, with the elevated dining experience. Cocktails span from a Martinez (gin, sweet vermouth, luxardo maraschino and bitters), to an American Gothic (bourbon, ginger, lemon, blackberry and club soda), to a Pisco Sour (pisco, citrus, egg white and angostora bitters) and everything in between. But, it’s also an option to play around with what you want when looking to imbibe. The bar staff are very accommodating, and if you tell them what you like, you’ll likely get something you love in return.
And for those who like vino, there’s plenty to choose from in the red, white, rosé and sparkling categories as well. Beer drinkers also have a few different options to choose from (think a few local and global favorites.)
Food-wise, Frame offers different hot and cold options—from tuna tartare, to burrata, to crispy rice tuna for appetizers. Larger dishes highlights, on the other hand, include seared scallops, lamb chops, braised pork belly, baja fish tacos, grilled portabello tacos and more. And for your main course, the venue has a variety of choices from sesame-crusted tuna, to stuffed chicken, to ratatouille, and other options with sides spanning truffle fries, seafood mac and cheese and everything in between.
Ultimately, the venue’s menu is centered around locally sourced ingredients.
The night can then live on upstairs with Unframed—food can be ordered upstairs as well. The concept is officially described as having a design that immerses the senses through familiar yet elevated food and drinks, but the events is where this space truly shines.
The ultra lounge comes alive through a series of local and national guest DJ’s and themed events, transforming the space into an ever-evolving experience each through different musical genres and talents, the release states. The Unframed bar menu features top shelf bottle service and smart cocktails, highlights include Old Fashioned, martinis, margaritas, espresso martinis ensuring premium beverage choices for spirit lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
And for more private affairs, Unframed is also available to be booked for private events, with a standing capacity of 140.
Lastly, brunch is also an option here at Frame Philly with menu items ranging from eggs benedict, banana pancakes, avocado toast, French toast, an omelete of the day and more. Reservations are available for any time of day and takeout is also available.
