Franklin Mills, Philadelphia’s largest value retail shopping center, is holding its first “Celebrating Women” event.
The month-long initiative offers female shoppers exclusive discounts, health awareness programs and fashion presentations and includes a business clothing drive to benefit Dress for Success Philadelphia.
“’Celebrating Women’ is our way to empower women of all ages through fashion and self-expression,” said Franklin Mills’ director of marketing Donna Danielson.
“This effort will showcase our unique brand of shopping with fashion forward outlet and value retailers, while engaging women who play a vital role in our society as mothers, caregivers, business leaders and community activists.”
The event kicks off this Wednesday with a girls night out at Dave & Buster’s from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. featuring $5 pink-tini cocktails and karaoke.
A 5K mall walk will be held Oct. 22 to benefit the American Cancer Society, which will host several presentations throughout the month, including one addressing breast health.
Retailers will support the walk with in-store events including modeling demonstrations, personal shoppers, giveaways, entertainment and refreshments.
The month will culminate in the Women’s Wellness Expo on Oct. 29 and 30, a free informational event in which more than 30 local vendors will provide health screening and healthy living tips.
