Looking for some fun and unique things to do in Philly this weekend? We’ve got you covered.
From now through Friday, March 8, Philadelphians can indulge in everything that East Passyunk Restaurant Week has to offer. This annual event, from the East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District, is in its 12th year and features restaurants offering expanded price points serving three-course prix fixe lunch and/or dinner options. Diners can check out the meals for indoor/outdoor dining service, or for some takeaway deals.
Price points range depending on the establishment, and the options for cuisines range even more with French to Italian to Vietnamese and beyond being served up. As a release states, this year patrons can also expect menus from newcomers, as well as returning favorites, priced at $20, $30, $40, and $55 for exclusive, elevated experiences.
Last week, the Museum of the American Revolution’s special exhibition, ‘Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent’, opened with more than 100 artifacts from across the country. This new addition will remain on view through Jan. 5, 2025 and will feature objects, documents, works of art, touchscreen interactives, audio and video elements, and more to showcase the individuals over time who helped preserve Washington’s War Tent from the Revolution to present day.
Some artifacts to look out for include the 1897 painting ‘In the Presence of Washington’ by Howard Pyle, an 1872 letter written by Selina Gray to Mary Anna Randolph Custis Lee, and even George Washington’s foldable field bedstead among many other one-of-a-kind items.

Puttshack recently opened at The Shops at Liberty Place, and this venue houses a food and beverage program plus live entertainment on top of the four 9-hole tech-driven, highly competitive mini golf courses. Puttshack uses “Trackaball technology” where each player will create a unique player profile, synced to their own individual golf ball at the start of gameplay.
The space is meant to be family-friendly during the day, and then at 8 p.m., it turns into a 21+ club for the night with a DJ booth staking out weekly. Puttshack also dons a bar and dining room space with a selection of both drinks and food (think Korean bao buns, a cheesesteak flatbread and roast pork). The space will operate Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

This Thursday, Feb. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., Dock Street South is celebrating the closing of Black History Month with a pop-up showcasing local Black-owned businesses. Guests can peruse vendors such as G + RIZZ (quirky cards, fun stickers and prints), Nooked (artisan home, bath and body care) NOSHADE (bold, unique and creative earrings) and more.
As a release notes, additionally, attendees can partake in happy hour specials while pursuing the market until 6 pm, including $1 off any draft, a $6 City Wide, $10 rotating cocktail, and discounted bites such as $6 boneless buffalo chicken wings and $10 Americana pizza. Dock Street’s full menu will also be available.

There’s a new concept coming to the city of Philadelphia, and it’s meant to resemble something similar to world-renowned Mexico City restaurants like Pujol and Quintonil. Mesona is a new fine-dining experience set to open later this year, but a preview of it all is coming to Bella Vista for an 8-week residency this week.
Beginning Feb. 29, and serving the community through April 20, the Tex-Mex taco shop located at 1001 East Passyunk Ave. will host Chef Sánchez’s dinner-only residency every Thursday through Saturday night. There will only be a 6:30 seating for the first weekend, before moving to 6 and 8:30 p.m. seatings for the remainder of the preview.
As a release notes, the six-course, $110 (tax included) BYOB experience will feature upscale, elevated cuisine resembling the fine dining approach, plating, and style of some of the finest restaurants in Mexico.
