Punch Line Philly’s Birthday Bash

This weekend, one Philly institution is turning 5 and to celebrate, everyone is invited to party with food, drinks, music and laughs. Punch Line Philly, the comedy club, restaurant, and bar will be celebrating 5 years of business with cake, music by DJ Macky, $5 Jim Beam specials, plus $5 tickets and $5 discounts on tickets to select upcoming shows at Punch Line Philly. To make the occasion extra special, comedian Carmen Lynch will perform later that evening (July 9) at Punch Line Philly, and again on Saturday, July 10. The fun starts at 5 p.m. this Friday and for a full list of upcoming shows, Philadelphians can check online.

East Passyunk Summer Sidewalk Sale

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) will be showcasing some of the 150 businesses that call the area home this weekend with their Summer Sidewalk Sale. On Saturday, July 10, shoppers can check out locally-made, Philadelphia-themed, vintage finds, pop-ups, and grab-and-go fare, with a line-up of live music and entertainment from morning until night. This all-day sidewalk sale will support East Passyunk Avenue’s independently owned retail shops and services. Popular retail outlets such as Nice Things Handmade, Occasionette, and NRS Boutique will set up racks, tables, and special pop-ups along their storefronts for folks to shop, during each businesses’ particular hours of operation.

Her Bialys Kismet Collab

Kismet Bagels has been partnering with local brands for the last year, and this weekend the team is going to be joining forces with Chef Amanda Shulman of Her Place Supper Club, Philly’s new dining spot, for a special bialy and pop-tart pop-up. The event will take place this Saturday, July 10, from 10 a.m. until noon at Her Place at 1740 Sansom Street in Rittenhouse. The release states that Jacob and Alexandra Cohen of Kismet Bagels tapped Schulman to create three new bialy specials, including a za’atar bialy with baked egg, topped with zhug drizzle; a bialy topped with whipped feta and roasted cherry tomatoes; and a zucchini bialy with zucchini butter, pecorino, and basil. There will also be a special “Her Pop-Tart” special — blueberry with a Kismet Golden Milk Schmear glaze. All four will be sold as walk-up orders only on Saturday until noon, or through sell-out. There will also be coffee available from Vibrant Coffee Roasters.

Philly Back to Work Fair 

According to a release, Brian Antar, CEO of Shipmate Fulfillment and Bill Carlin, CMO, noticed an increase in available jobs within their own warehouse which extended to other local businesses looking to hire. The Philadelphia-based 3PL business is hosting a job fair party to encourage people eligible for work to explore these opportunities while building relationships. Job seekers are encouraged to explore some of Philadelphia’s most desirable businesses looking to hire this Thursday, July 8. Guests will eat, drink, and network from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Companies interested in attending can fill out the vendor form, and people interested in attending can visit and RSVP for this free event on the Facebook event page.
