South Street Promenade
The Promenade on Easter Sunday has been a tradition in the City of Brotherly Love for 90 years. The annual event originated in Rittenhouse Square, but was moved to South Street in the 1980s. And with that move came some of the new(ish) traditions, including the addition of live performances, Mr. and Mrs. Cotton Tail, and the Best Dressed Pet category in the annual fashion contest.
The 90th anniversary is an opportunity for family and friends to start new traditions as well, however. FOX29 is adding on as the media partner, and on-air talent will be joining in on the occasion. Additionally, attendees can also participate in the South Street Egg Hunt before and after the Promenade.
The promenade ends in Headhouse Square where the traditional Best Dressed Competition takes place. Categories range from the best dressed of certain age groups and a few specialty rounds—such as families, pets, bonnets and the best “Razzle Dazzle.” The promenade begins at 12:30 pm.
Ether Float
This sunset class comes from Aqua Vida, and takes place at the indoor pool at AKA University City’s lifestyle club, Level 28. Philadelphians will be able to partake in the class either at the side of the pool, or on a paddle board in the water, all while listening to the backdrop of performer Luna Maye’s music.
Guests will gather and embark on this journey this Friday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m., and the experience brings participants 400 feet above street level. Tickets ($99 poolside and $122 floating) include the floating concert listening experience along with the headphones. Following the experience, guests will be invited to enjoy cocktails and wine at Level 28’s private bar, a.lounge.

Triple Bottom Brewery’s Cherry Blossom Pop-up
This pop-up comes from Triple Bottom in partnership with the Japan American Society just in time to view the cherry blossoms in Fairmount Park. Open from April 7 to 16, this new pop-up features brews, Japanese-inspired libations, and bites set up in the beer garden with picnic tables and restrooms right outside of Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center.
From the bar, visitors can find a Shofuso lager and radlers (beer with fruit juice), while from the kitchen, guests can enjoy bites available from Bao Buns Studio (think pulled pork bao buns, Asian nachos and more). The last two days of the beer garden will take place as part of the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival Sakura Weekend, a spring celebration of Japanese arts and culture. Guests seated in the Cherry Blossom Beer Garden will be able to enjoy the performances scheduled for the second stage as well. More information can be found online.
Luk Fu
Located inside Live! Casino & Hotel, Asian fusion restaurant Luk Fu is hosting its own Cherry Blossom Festival until Sunday, April 16, with a special menu filled with traditional dishes and creative cocktails. With the restaurant adorned with the pink-and-white trees and bouquets, Philadelphians can indulge in a variety of items such as the beef tenderloin with asparagus in a spicy black bean sauce and shrimp with string beans in a garlic sauce. Bar-wise, patrons can also sip on different themed cocktails, such as the Cherry Blossom Bellini and Razzberry Gimlet. Reservations are available.

National Beer Day at CO-OP
This Friday, in honor of the sudsy holiday, CO-OP is hosting Two Locals Brewing Company from 5-7 p.m. for a special event. Richard and Mengistu Koilor, the founding brothers of Two Locals, will be posted up at the restaurant and bar to pour their Nubian Brown Ale, a 5.7% ale (described to have a flavor profile of fresh baked bread, plus nutty and medium roasted coffee.) Beers will be $7 each, pay as you go, and as a release states, CO-OP will be the the only location in University City with Two Locals on tap, and the Nubian Brown Ale will be available while supplies last, welcoming the award-winning brewery to the neighborhood.
