Kimberly Boutique Pop-Up Sale
This weekend, shoppers can head to Kimberly Boutique’s pop-up sale where everything will be marked down 50%, plus 75% off of the sale rack. The boutique, which is celebrating its 16th year in business, will offer a few different ways for Philadelphians to shop: Just stop by, schedule a private shopping experience or score some deals at home with the code, “HOLIDAY50” through their online shop—private shopping experience’s can be scheduled over email, at [email protected]. The boutique will also be popping up for an outdoor shopping experience in partnership with Rittenhouse Row, at the corner of 18th and Walnut this Saturday, Jan. 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., so there will be another opportunity to shop till you drop.

“Apres-Ski” at The Good King Tavern
Take a trip to the French Alps without ever leaving Philly this weekend. Running every Thursday through Sunday, diners can head to the Bella Vista eatery to check out their own version of a Mont Blanc (Chamonix) chalet. Philadelphians will be able to indulge and enjoy all things surrounding Alpine winter culture including munching on specialty treats. Apres-Ski will be serving up raclettes, vin chaud, cheesy French hot dogs and much more. If you’re thirsty for wine, le Caveau will also be popping up as a bottle shop downstairs at the Tavern as well with wines under $20- $40 or “fancy forever” wines for special occasions. This winter-time pop-up will consist of insulated pods with infrared wall-mounted heaters, plus patio and street seating with propane heaters. Philadelphians can enjoy Apres-Ski every Thursday through Sunday with hours varying on the day.

Ego Po’s “Three OG’s”
This Friday, Philadelphians will be able to participate in a live, virtual reading for their latest show. “Three OG’s” was written by Lawrence Theatre Company’s founder, Derrell Lawrence, “Three OG’s” stars John Canada Terrell, Brian Anthony Wilson and Lawrence’s Artistic Director, Damien J. Wallace, who is also EgoPo’s season Artist-in-Residence. Lawrence Theatre Company, founded in 2018, is Philadelphia’s theater for emerging black stories, and all proceeds from the event this weekend will go to support Lawrence Theatre Company’s ongoing new play development. The “Three OG’s” will be a one-night special event, streaming live online on Friday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. A Q&A will immediately follow the performance. Registration is required with a $25 suggested donation. All proceeds support Lawrence Theatre Company.
Opera Philadelphia’s “Soldier Songs”
Earlier this summer, Opera Philadelphia announced a brand new channel “in which artists can perform and explore, through a series of new commissions by visionary composers and dynamic performances produced for the screen.” The new “HBO-like” channel has a new production hitting the screen this weekend. The filmed adaptation of David T. Little’s “Soldier Songs” stars Johnathan McCullough, is conducted by Corrado Rovaris, and produced by James Darrah. The piece was filmed on location at the Birmingham Hill Preserve at the Brandywine Conservancy.
Philadelphians can head to South Philly starting this week to get a taste of one Pennsport hotspot. The Dutch has partnered up with the popular East Passyunk French eatery, Fond, to debut a weekly street-side pop up consisting of brunch bites, cocktails, cheesesteaks, sausage sammies, plus a variety of libations. This particular pop-up will run Wednesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with The Dutch’s chef Kevin Watters manning the grill. Watters’ menu consists of chicken quesadillas with cheddar cheese, chicken, peppers, and onions; breakfast sandwiches with two eggs, meat, and cheese; reubens with corned beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, sauerkraut on marble rye and a side of potatoes. A selection of beverages will be available to go as well including mimosas, Bloody Marys (virgin available), orange juice and coffee. Then, from 3 to 7 p.m., Fond’s chef Lee Styer will take over with a menu consisting of cheesesteaks, sausage sammies, Brie en Croûte, homemade soups, and much more. In addition, Cigar City Brewing beers, spiked mulled cider, hot cider, and cocktails to-go will be available for sipping alongside Fond’s fire pits.The Dutch will operate during the hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for take away and outdoor dining (weather permitting). Fond will also continue their street-side pop up on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a rotating menu of eats and libations as well.
