A 2-year-old girl was briefly abducted when a car thief drove off with her inside the vehicle Wednesday morning in Northeast Philadelphia, authorities said.

The girl was found unharmed “within minutes” of the incident a short distance away, a Philadelphia Police Department spokesperson told Metro.

Officers responded to a report of an abduction just after 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Bustleton and Unruh avenues in the Castor Gardens neighborhood, investigators said. The suspect was able to steal the parent’s white Toyota Highlander, according to the PPD.
