The Greater Philadelphia YMCA will provide free childcare for area residents so they can get a Covid-19 vaccination, in cooperation with the White House Covid Response Team.

As Covid-19 vaccination rates have slowed, the Biden Administration and health officials have sought to eliminate barriers preventing Americans from getting vaccinated. Even as vaccine access has widely-increased, a shortage of childcare has prevented some Americans from getting their shot and accessing crucial protection for their households.

This YMCA service is free of charge, and available on a drop-in basis, now through July 4 during KidZone hours. Parents are advised to call ahead at 215-220-9199 or visit to find the location nearest them, and confirm KidZone hours of availability and policies. Children must be potty-trained and no longer dependent on diapers. Parents will be required to sign a childcare waiver.

The YMCA encourages every resident to get vaccinated if, and when, they are able. For those with questions about the available vaccines, their safety, and related research, visit
