Just in time for the spooky season, Xfinity Live! recently announced the return of its annual Halloweekend activation featuring two back-to-back masquerades later this month.
“Screams in the Stadium District” will be first up on Friday, Oct. 27, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., and then “A Haunting on Pattison Ave.” will then follow on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. as well.
Both nights will include costume contests with over $1,500 in cash prizes, plus a variety of entertainment spanning live music, DJ sets, a silent disco, karaoke, bull riding, and more. Plus, Philly’s Drag Mafia will be back at the venue with a HallowQueen Drag Brunch on Sunday, Oct. 15 to wrap the weekend up on an energetic note.
For the first two nights of the weekends however, each of the five venues will offer different tricks and treats all under one roof, including karaoke in Broad Street Bullies Pub, silent disco in 1100 Social, bull riding and buckle bunnies in PBR Philly, live music in Victory Beer Hall (Engine #9 on Friday night and then Split Decision on Saturday night) and DJs in the NBC Sports Arena, a release states. Tickets are $10 for each event and they are available for purchase now online, or, Philadelphians can purchase tickets for $5 more ($15) at the door on Friday or Saturday.
“Our annual Halloween event has become one of our most popular, offering attendees five different themed parties under one roof,” said Justin DeSalvo, Director of Operations at Xfinity Live! in a statement.
DeSalvo continued: “Whatever experience you’re looking for on Halloween, we’ve got it, from karaoke to DJs and dancing. It’s perfect for a ghouls’ night out.”
Each night will boast multiple costume contests including Best Duo and Best Overall, the release continues. First place in each category will receive $1,000 cash plus a $500 Xfinity Live! gift card; second place will receive $500 cash and $250 gift card; and then a prize of $100 cash and a $100 gift card will go for third place.
But even with the similar entertainment, each night has a different theme on Halloweekend at Xfinity. During Screams in the Stadium District on Friday Oct. 27, partygoers will “revel as the Stadium District comes alive.” AKA, this particular nights plays on the theme that Philly’s stadiums have a haunted past, and when the lights go out, the souls of past players emerge. Then on night two, A Haunting on Pattison Ave will boast “unnerving supernatural presences as reports of paranormal activity swirl through the Stadium District.”
The weekend will end with the finale Drag Mafia’s Brittany Lynn at the Xfinity Live’s Outdoor Plaza on Sunday, Oct. 15, at noon. While there, guests can enjoy a specialty brunch menu, themed cocktails and an highly energetic show. Doors open at 11 a.m. on that date, and note, any patrons must be 21+ to enter. Tables of four are available at $30 per person (note that all four seats must be purchased together), and bar seats are also available and start at $25. Tickets can be purchased online through Xfinity’s official site.
