An elderly man died in a fire in North Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The fatal fire happened about 11:20 a.m. in a row home on the 3000 block of North Ninth Street, 6ABC Action News reported.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames showing from the home. They found the man’s body during a secondary search.
It appeared the fire started in the front bedroom on the home’s second floor, but the cause was not immediately known. Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers described the victim as a hoarder.
