With the February 20th trade deadline approaching, the Sixers ownership doesn’t have much time to finalize their trade proposals to teams throughout the league. If they don’t move fast, players like Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes, who’re likely not in the teams future plans, could end up playing out the final years of their contracts with the Sixers getting nothing in return.

According the ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Sixers will be “super active” in the next week trying to shop these two trade chips.

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding Evan Turner this week.

The Charlotte Observer’s Tom Sorenson reported on Tuesday that the Bobcats could offer a package which includes the expiring contract of guard Ben Gordon and a 2014 first-round pick for Turner.

The pick the Bobcats would likely offer is Portland’s first-rounder this year, which is currently projected at No. 26. Turner’s name has also appeared in trade talks involving the Spurs, Thunder and Suns.

For Hawes, nothing has officially been reported, but the Blazers called the Sixers front offices regarding Hawes back in December. With the Blazers’ recent injury to Joel Freeland, many target Portland as a potential landing spot for Hawes. It’s unclear what the Blazers would be willing to offer, but potentially a future first-round pick in exchange for the big man.

Turner and Hawes are both statistically having their best years in a Sixers uniform. Turner’s averaging 17.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game, although he’s doing so inefficiently — shooting just 43-percent from the field. Hawes averages 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, while shooting an astounding 40-percent from the three point line.
