Hunting Park Man Arrested for Shining Laser Pointer At PPD Helicopter

A Hunting Park man was arrested for shining a laser pointer at a Philadelphia Police patrol helicopter last night after the pilot and co-pilot reported being hit with a bright light, temporarily impairing their vision.

Brain Lawhon, 23, of the 4000 block of N. Franklin Street, is being charged with aggravated assault, risking a catastrophe and related offenses. He was arrested on the 4000 block of 6th Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. and was reportedly carrying a laser pen when he was taken into custody.
