Improper Campaign Literature in N.E. Philly’s 63rd Ward

Here is a copy of the improper campaign literature that was being distributed earlier today in Northeast Philadelphia’s 63rd Ward, which includes the area where 33-year First District City Council veteran Brian O’Neill is duking it out with Democrat Bill Rubin in a race that many experts say will be close.

The literature, which was illegally unattributed to any sponsor, prompted an Election Court hearing today at which the Republican City Committee presented a witness who said it was being handed out “on behalf of various democratic candidates in several divisions,” the Committee of Seventy said in an email.

It endorses Democrat Christine Solomon for Judge of Traffic Court, Democrats Bill Green, William Greenlee and James Kenney and Republican Dennis O’Brien for Council at large and Democrat Bill Rubin for District City Council.
