It’s official: Philadelphia population UP!

New census figures just released in the last 20 minutes at the 2010 Census site confirmed speculation from two years ago that Philadelphia did in fact grow in size in the last decade.

Ok, so it’s only 0.6 percent. But considering some cities — like Chicago, which lost over 200,000 residents in that same period — saw decreases, it speaks to a regional move by some people from the suburbs to the city in the Philly metropolitan region.
