Jermel Johnson retires from Philadelphia Ballet

Longtime Philadelphia Ballet principal dancer Jermel Johnson retired from the company after 19 trailblazing years. After his final performance on Sunday, May 15, in Hans van Manen’s Humankind, the Philadelphia Ballet’s Artistic Director Angel Corella toasted Johnson along with his family, Philadelphia Ballet company members and alumni on stage at the Academy of Music, followed by a reception in the ballroom.
