Infrastructure, by definition, are installations needed for the functioning of a community or society.
Functioning of a community or society? Really?
Looks to me like our entire city, state and nation are under construction.
You can’t drive without sitting in traffic for at least two seasons. I-95 is torture.
The entire turnpike is under construction, from Delaware all the way through New York. Lanes are squeezed together so tightly, you’re two inches away from a tractor trailer traveling at breakneck speed and you and all your passengers have broken into mass prayer.
And driving in the city? Good luck.
You’re pinned in a virtual sea of concrete traps. Walking in the city now is like playing hopscotch on a highway.
Folks, we are living in an infrastructure war zone. Who the hell plans this? This is chaos!
You mean to tell me that there isn’t a better way to organize this? A more systematic way of rebuilding?
Finally, the biggest injustice of all – the building collapse.
Six people perished, forever buried in corrupt rubble. They all died because the city and L&I were negligent in protecting citizens.
The kingpin slumlord Richard Basciano hired a demolition crew for chump change – $10,000 to knock down his building.
The going rate for a project honestly done with licenses and proper inspections is $250,000.
So as the city mass “infrastructure” projects continue, the walls of inadequate supervision by our city have failed us.
It’s not the crew who was hired to do this that should take the blame. It’s the dregs of the earth, Richard Basciano, who hired this crew.
The big question is: who did he pay off?
This reeks of corruption. Your tax dollars hard at work.
Just look around you.
It makes me sick.
