SEPTA announced new Regional Rail schedules that will go into effect on Sunday, Oct. 18.

The new schedules include minor adjustments that will translate to more predictable and reliable service, SEPTA officials said.

The new schedules include more consistent connections between lines. SEPTA officials said the changes should make the system easier to navigate and help prevent delays on one line from affecting service across the network.

As more train cars become available, SEPTA also plans to operate longer trains, providing additional space for riders, officials added.

Paoli/Thorndale Line changes

Amtrak work will continue to affect the Paoli/Thorndale Line through Nov. 21. Inbound trains will operate five minutes earlier to William H. Gray III 30th Street Station and will be rerouted between Overbrook and 30th Street stations.

Trains will continue boarding from their usual locations, but schedules have been adjusted by five minutes to account for expected delays along the rerouted section.

Riders can review the updated Paoli/Thorndale Line schedule for details.

In response to rider feedback, SEPTA is also changing an early-morning departure on the line. Train 5300, which currently leaves Malvern at 4:29 a.m., will operate as train 9500 and depart 20 minutes later.

SEPTA updates its Regional Rail schedules four times a year to improve reliability and accommodate capital projects and infrastructure improvements, the transit authority said.

Riders are encouraged to check departure and arrival times before traveling. The updated schedules are available at SEPTA.org.

SEPTA parking rates reduced

SEPTA has also reduced daily parking rates at all of its parking garages, including those at Frankford Transit Center, Lansdale Station and Norristown Transit Center. Rates have dropped from $4 to $2 per day through Dec. 31, 2026.
