‘John Doe’ shot on North Philadelphia street

A man is in critical condition tonight after he was shot on a North Philadelphia street.

Police said the victim, an unidentified “John Doe” who they believe to be between 40 and 50 years old, was shot once in the lower back on the 3100 block of North 24th Street shortly before 8 p.m.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. There is no word on a motive, and no arrests have yet been made.
