It’ll be a homecoming of sorts for Eddie Jordan.
Jordan led the Washington Wizards to four straight playoff appearances before being fired last November following a 1-10 start. When he was introduced as the Sixers new coach, Jordan said he thought he had “more than moderate success” in his five-plus seasons in Washington.
Back in October, the Sixers beat the Wizards 93-85 in a preseason tune-up at the Wachovia Center. At first, Jordan played off the nostalgia, then admitted it would be a little different had the game been played in D.C. Tonight, that’s the case as the scene shifts to our Nation’s Capital.
“The longer you’re in the league, the less of an emotional impact, playing your previous team is,” Jordan said in October.?“We’re playing here [in Philadelphia], it’s not like we’re going to Washington.
That might be a little different.”
