Kolb leads way in road win

Dust off those Kevin Kolb jerseys. The franchise’s future is in good hands.

Well, at least for one week, against the NFL’s 20th-ranked pass defense.

Kolb, making his first start since being replaced by Michael Vick, went 21-of-31 for 253 yards and a touchdown, leading the Eagles to a 27-24 victory last night in San Francisco. The win moved the Eagles (3-2) into a tie with the Redskins (3-2) and Giants (3-2) for first place in the NFC East.

Kolb connected on his first eight passes before finding Brent Celek on an 8-yard TD pass at the end of the first quarter. Kolb has gone 43-of-66 for 454 yards and two scores in his last seven quarters.

LeSean McCoy proved why he is one of the team’s fastest rising stars. Playing with a broken rib, McCoy churned out 92 rushing yards, including a 29-yard touchdown.
