Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia: What the event holds for 2023

In years past, you may have happened upon a sea of Philadelphians in white attire camping out in different parts of the city with food, fun and twinkling lights acting as a backdrop. Some might think this instance is a one-off party, but others know this annual event as Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia.

And this week, it’s officially back for 2023.

In previous installments, the popular Parisian-inspired pop-up picnic has called a few different popular areas of the city home, such as at the Art Museum, Franklin Park, Rittenhouse Park and even at the picturesque Swann Fountain at Logan Circle last year.

Tickets officially went on sale last month for the annual occasion—though the location for this year’s event will not been revealed until guests arrive—and the festivities will take place this Thursday, Aug. 10.

Over the years, the Philly iteration of the global celebration has amassed over 150 volunteers, the event has grown to over 5,000 attendees and co-Hosts Natanya DiBona and Kayli Moran have worked with a volunteer planning team from April to August to make the event happen.

As a release states, year after year, the volunteer team is passionate about the experience they create for their guests, and they look forward to delivering an extraordinary event for this year’s Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia.

“We cannot be more excited for Le Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia 2023! We are busy planning a fantastic event, and we’re excited to showcase another beautiful Philadelphia location to this year’s guests,” said DiBona, of Le Diner en Blanc Philadelphia in a previous statement.

This Thursday, thousands of guests will be brought together from diverse backgrounds with “a common interest in elegant dining at an unexpected public space.” As the release also notes, attendees will don their elegant white attire and arrive at a designated meeting point, where they are led to the secret event site for an evening of fine dining and entertainment.

Those who participate bring their own tables, chairs, picnic baskets and all of their own trimmings and participate in the evening filled with life, food, fashion, and community. The event has gotten so big around the world that to date, over 120 cities in 40 countries have joined in to celebrate the occasion (including Atlantic City, which hosted its event in June of this year.)

Access to the event is for two people and spans various live performances, entertaining activities, photo opportunities, and an assortment of other surprises.
