Summer Swigs brings the heat this sunny season on East Passyunk

If there wasn’t enough of a reason to head down to East Passyunk this sunny season, Philadelphians can now finish out the warmer months with Summer Swigs.

This weekly happy hour rotates offerings from various top-tier restaurants and bars on Wednesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. where one business acts as the host to the event. This go-around (Aug. 9) Stogie Joe’s Tavern will offer a selection of light bites and discounted libations, available for one night only. Later this month Noir will host on Aug.23, The Dutch’s turn will then be on Sept. 6 and Flannel will close out the series with Sept. 14.

And as the release states, one constant Wednesday-only happy hour is Chef Nicholas Elmi’s Laurel, with its menu encompassing $2 oysters, $6 wines, $6 beers, and $12 cocktails. In addition to Summer Swigs, a variety of local restaurants and bars are following suit with happy hours to experience throughout the week, and even some on the weekends.

Bing Bing Dim Sum’s happy hour (Sunday to Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 to 5 p.m.) boasts a House Junmai Sake ($8), High Life ($4), Happy Hour cocktail ($9), house red or white wine ($9), Cheesesteak Bao ($5), Scarlet Dumplings ($7), and Sichuan Chicken Wontons.
